It’s going to be a fun-filled weekend here in Arguineguin this weekend with the last few days of Mogan carnival. All the events are quite central in Arguineguin village, just a stone’s throw away from Anfi, and you’ll be sure to receive a warm welcome.
As you all know by now 2013 marks Anfi’s twenty-fifth anniversary.
It was a quarter of a century ago that Anfi founder Bjorn Lyng started dismantling the huge barren mountain which were to become the four award-winning clubs which make up Anfi del Mar.
To help us mark the anniversary of this auspicious occasion we’ve enlisted the help of local hero and Manchester City Mid Fielder, David Silva.
Well, that’s the carnival season over for another year.
It’s has been a fun-filled few weeks full of laughter, Latin rhythms and lot’s of colour.
The young and old from local communities took part by pulling together and working hard for months beforehand preparing fancy dresses and dance routines. But it’s all over now till next year.
The Carnival of Maspalomas culminated yesterday with the Entierro of the Sardina (Burial of the Sardine), which we wrote about here.
We thought you might enjoy this gallery of pics from yesterday’s party to whet your appetite for next year’s carnival.
