Love is certainly in the air at Anfi right now, springtime has sprung, the birds are singing and Anfi is blossoming.
Making it the perfect moment for Anfi guest Joshua Roberts to pop the question to his beautiful fiancée Rebecca Hegarty on Anfi’s heart shaped island!
Joshua, an IT technician and Rebecca, a primary school teacher, recently stayed at Club Puerto Anfi with Rebecca’s family, who have been owners at Anfi for 8 years.
After finishing their evening meal with the family at Anfi’s Indian restaurant Mem Saab, Joshua and Rebecca went on to enjoy a few drinks at the Havana Bar.
Later in the evening, Joshua suggested a stroll around the Anfi Island, which Rebecca’s family have affectionately referred to as ‘Rebecca’s Island’ since they first became Anfi Members when Rebecca was a young girl.
It was here, an anxious Joshua dropped down on one knee, held out a delicate 18-carat white-gold solitaire diamond ring and asked Rebecca that magical question.
“Will you please marry me?”
Rebecca had no hesitation is saying yes, amid hugs and happy tears!
When we caught up with Rebecca and Joshua along with the rest of the family, everyone’s delight at the surprise proposal was evident.
Rebecca’s Mum, Sally, was thrilled that Joshua had proposed to Rebecca at Anfi as they thought of Anfi as their “Second home”, she told us, “Anfi is very special to us, it’s where we come to escape, relax and have a complete break from the stresses of home – we escape to the sunshine!”
Rebecca and her younger sister Amelia, were already getting caught up in the ‘big day’ planning and both were intrigued when I mentioned to them that we now have our very own bespoke Wedding Service, complete with Professional Wedding Planner here at Anfi.
They both agreed that getting married on Anfi’s heart-shaped island amid the swaying palm trees and colourful bougainvillea would be very special indeed!
