We have just enjoyed another successful Member’s Week at Anfi – a week filled with a great selection of extra on-site activities just for our Members.
We began the week with an aquatic theme, as Luis Molina Sports gave our Members free classes in paddle surf and sailing down at Anfi Beach. As always we were blessed with fantastic weather conditions and the water was calm as our Members took to the waters.
The sporting theme continued on Tuesday as we held another successful Golf Clinic over at Anfi Tauro Golf. This is our second Golf Clinic and you can read our full post about it right here.
We received some great feedback, such as this comment from Chris, a seasoned Golfer for over 20 years from a village near Sherwood Forest back in the UK, “I’ve learnt more in these three hours than in the last 10 years”.
Chris told us that he felt it was “time well spent” and he found both pros “excellent” and said they had given him “invaluable advise”. Chris has also played golf in Arizona and he thought it was “unbelievable how much the course represented an Arizona course in the States”.
Later that day chef Manolo held a tortilla making master class over at Gran Bahia, which ended in a tasting session. You can find the full tortilla recipe by clicking on this link right here.
We spoke with Members Judy and Thomas, who had flown all the way from Tasmania to be at Anfi!
Judy told us how much she looked forward to their long holiday at Anfi, “We love coming to Anfi to simply relax, to be spoilt. We like to eat in the restaurants, in particular at Puerto Vista as we have developed a great rapport with the staff there. We also enjoy the gardens and of course the weather, it’s very cold in Tasmania right now. We don’t cook on holiday but Thomas will be trying out the tortilla recipe after today!”
Judy went on to tell us how they had been using their Anfi points, “The points are great, we have used them for a Baltic cruise, flights, car hire throughout the whole holiday and for hotel stays and we use our points to book half-board during our holiday at Anfi. Also one year Thomas went on a sea-fishing trip using our points and he landed a 60 kilo sting-ray, it was incredible!”
On Wednesday we held a make-up and hairstyling workshop over at the Anfi Wellness Centre. Our Members received tips on holiday hair care, simple poolside styles as well as holiday make-up ideas.
We spoke with long-time Member Gillian from Ireland who told us that she had “loved the day and found the classes lots of fun”.
As a Member of over ten years Gillian has seen her family “grow up at Anfi” and now her grandson is here too and playing happily in the pool at Anfi Beach Club!
“I love Anfi… We come here with confidence, knowing exactly what we are coming to each year. I love the security within the resort and I always feel comfortable to walk around alone and have a coffee alone. And the reception staff are great, nothing is too much trouble for them.”
Gillian and her family are very happy with the flexibility the point system has afforded them, this year they are “using our points to pay for half board for us and our family, who are here too.”
Things got a hit of that Latin vibe on Wednesday, as we held another ‘Tropical Day’.
Waiters Cristobal and Dayan, pictured above with Capi our Entertainment Team manager, demonstrated how to make the perfect mojito cocktail, whilst our Cuban band got everyone up on their feet for the salsa dancing class.
Anfi Member Caroline Young, pictured above with her partner, was keen to join in with the salsa class having danced salsa in the UK, “It’s been a while since I last danced salsa, and I’m looking forward to catching up, we are really enjoying the extra activities this week, it’s great fun!”
Caroline continued to tell us how much she looks forward to her Anfi holiday, “I love Anfi, it feels like coming home and next week we are moving to a penthouse, we love the view from up there, it’s beautiful.
Caroline is a big fan of the point system at Anfi, having used her points to travel to Bali and Egypt! “Sarah Bibby in the Anfi Vacation Club has helped me with my points again this year, she’s a lovely girl, just marvellous!”
Also loving the atmosphere of Tropical day were new Members Berian and Amy from Bedlinog in Wales, pictured below, who were enjoying their second year at Anfi.
Berian told us, “Anfi has got everything we want – it’s just fabulous! The staff, the entertainment, the standard is brilliant and the resort is really beautiful it’s just a pleasure to come here. This year we booked our week during Spring Fest, so we have had an extra week at Anfi free and we have done the same ready for next year, its great!”
Also joining in with the Salsa dance class were Ros and Graham from Bedford, pictured below with fellow anfi Member and friend Susan, “the extra entertainment this week is brilliant! We are keen shuffleboard players, but we thought we’d come and join in with the Salsa class today.
“We love coming to Anfi to us it’s like coming home and we look forward to meeting up with other Members’ who have become friends over the years, we organise our holiday dates using facebook and email, so that we are all here at the same time.”
The week’s activities culminated with mountain biking and trekking over at Anfi Tauro, as a small group of Members enjoyed the instruction and humour of Leo, from our Entertainments team, pictured below.
The group began with an hour bike ride and ended with a two-hour hike through the Tauro valley.
Whilst over at Club Puerto Anfi there was an arts workshop, which saw our Members, both young and young at heart, silk painting beautiful handkerchiefs .
Member’s Week was held this year in conjunction with Spring Fest, which enabled many Members to enjoy an additional week at Anfi via our 2 for 1 offer.
For full information and details on how to book your holiday during next year’s Spring Fest period simply head over to the Member’s Page over on the Anfi website.
Finally we would like to say a big thank you to all of the Members who participated in the week’s activities – we do hope you enjoyed as much as we did!
