This year’s Anfi Regatta was a great success; we caught up with two of the proud sponsors Pedro Vega of Navega and Juan José Correa, from Decotextil.
Navega is an established company in Gran Canaria dedicated to the maintenance of yachts. Their services include paint repairs, polishing, general and fibre repairs, electrical, plumbing and upholstery cleaning.
Pedro Vega, owner of the company Navega told us, “Taking care of a boat well is absolutely essential for its best performance”.
Vega continued, “The success of the Anfi Regatta is obvious, despite its short history, it has become a true classic amongst sailing events within Canary Islands. The race was a success, both in regards to organization and participation, which no doubt will be next year.”
Juan José Correa, owner of Decotextil a company specialising in interiors and upholstery acknowledges that as a company they “focus on design, quality and especially price, ensuring we are different and competitive.”
In regards to Anfi Correa continued, “Anfi is always improving and renovating, continuing as always, to be different from the rest – you always have to innovate in order to advance”.
“Decotextil are committed to innovative design and we recognize that you always have to improve within the industry in order to survive. Our customers are looking for something new, as they also want innovative and exciting options.”

Yes it is Father’s Day here in Spain!
El Dia del Padre is celebrated throughout Spain, Portugal and South America on the 19th of March. It coincides with St Joseph’s Day which commemorates Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters and possibly history’s most prolific Father.
All over Gran Canaria people will be celebrating today with a family get together and you too could join in the celebrations. Why not surprise the Dad in your life by wishing him a Happy Father’s Day in Spanish, ‘Feliz dia del Padre’!
Or if you are at Anfi right now, spoil him with a surprise Father’s Day Treat – as the saying goes, ‘when in Rome, do as the Romans do’.
We have a great selection of exhilarating water sports available at Luis Molina Sports on Anfi Beach or why not book up a scuba diving session at Scuba Sur situated in the Anfi shopping centre?
And what Dad could resist a delicious Indian meal or a fresh pizza from our restaurants? Then of course there is always the Havana Bar, situated next to the Plaza, showing live sports and serving cool beers – the perfect Father’s Day treat!
Happy Father’s Day to all the great Dads out there!
Summer 2012 saw Anfi hold its first regatta and it was a great success. We thought we’d share last year’s video with you to whet your appetite and put a little sunshine into your day. We hope you enjoy it !
Over 24 yachts took part over the two-day event which took place in the bays of Anfi, Patalavaca and Playa del Cura.
The event saw Olympians Onán Barreiros and Aaron Sarmiento, yachtsmen from the 470 del Real Club Náutico of Gran Canaria, taking part.
The conditions were perfect and during the regatta the champions described Anfi del Mar as, “a paradise for sailing” saying that, “there isn’t any place in the world like this”.
Remember to keep your eye on Facebook and here on The Anfi Blog for details of this year’s regatta!

This year Anfi is celebrating a very special anniversary, it’s 25 years since the first boulders were excavated from the barren hillside which was to become the setting to the iconic resort of Anfi del Mar as we know it today.
It was some years later, that the first prospective clients came to visit Anfi, although in the meantime, word had spread throughout the vacation ownership industry that something big was happening in Gran Canaria – a resort that would change the face of the industry forever was taking shape in the Canary Islands.
Soon professionals from all over Europe began flocking to Anfi Read more
Imagine strolling along Anfi beach, as the sun rises, on a beautiful clear-skied autumn morning, with not another sole insight… sounds idyllic, doesn’t it?
It certainly was! Our team in the Anfi Marketing department were lucky enough to experience just that, when the glamorous world of modelling descended on Anfi.
It’s been some time since the last resort photos were taken, and as you probably know, much has changed throughout Anfi during this time. So we enlisted models, photographers and stylists to assist us in updating all of the Anfi photo resources.
The new photographs are going to be featured in all of the updated Anfi promotional material, as well as on the website and within internal material, so it’s vital they represent the resorts accurately.
Lights, Camera, Action!
The actual photography of our models, took place over 4 full days, and it saw our models in a variety of locations, including the golf course at Anfi Tauro and out at sea on the Benito Cruiser. Although months of preparation and planning preceded the actual shoot – from meetings, organising locations, clothing, props and mood boards, to the still-life shots, interviewing models and overcoming a freak cloudy week!
To capture the Anfi Member and guest on film, our models ranged from a young couple in their late twenties/early thirties, to a family with 2 young children, to the grandparents – giving us 4 generations of Anfi members.
All of our models worked extremely hard, beginning very early in the mornings, to catch the right light and often working late into the evenings, to enable our photographers to capture the atmosphere of our evening entertainment.
It’s Tough at the Top!
There was plenty of fun too, sipping on cocktails, boat trips and larking around on the mini-golf course!
Our young models aged 9 and 6, had great fun splashing around in the Anfi pools, and afterwards commented that the highlight of the shoot was meeting Benito, the Anfi mascot, and being allowed to eat ice-cream before lunch!
The Anfi design team alongside the photographers are now sorting through the thousands of images to bring together a portfolio reflective of Anfi Members and guests, to be used in our upcoming material.
Until then, keep your eyes peeled on the Anfi Facebook page, as we will be uploading a sneak peak of the photographs very soon!
Maybe add somewhere that the whole photoshoot took more than 4 weeks?
Are you a budding photographer? We are always looking for great Anfi shots to feature on our website. Enter your photos in the My Anfi photos campaign, and you could win yourself an iPod shuffle, perfect for chilling on your next holiday!
