This year Anfi is celebrating a very special anniversary, it’s 25 years since the first boulders were excavated from the barren hillside which was to become the setting to the iconic resort of Anfi del Mar as we know it today.
It was some years later, that the first prospective clients came to visit Anfi, although in the meantime, word had spread throughout the vacation ownership industry that something big was happening in Gran Canaria – a resort that would change the face of the industry forever was taking shape in the Canary Islands.

Did you know that 80% of ocean pollution is due to land based activities?
It’s a shocking statistic and one that has played a big part in the annual “End of Summer Beach Clean Up”, which took place recently at Anfi.
Anfi Group staff, Members and local divers combined forces to comb the beach and seabed off Anfi Beach in search of waste and litter, with the aim of leaving the coast in good condition for the start of winter season, which began in October.
Anfi Cares Project
Operation ‘Clean-Up’ is part of the ‘Anfi Cares’ project – an on-going programme of social and environmental responsibility to which the Anfi Group is fully committed.
During the clean-up, which was coordinated by Anfi’s Marketing Department, over a dozen divers retrieved several kilos of solid waste, mostly: plastics, glass, and soft drinks cans – left over from the very busy summer months.
This, the second beach clean up, was hailed as a great success and the enthusiastic volunteers were rewarded by refreshments provided by Maroa Club de Mar, a small reward for their huge efforts!
